Overview

The Cardington-Lincoln Joint Recreation Board oversees the operation of the Cardington Pool, which operates each year from late May until early September. The Cardington Pool was renovated in 2001, and has a capacity of approximately 300 swimmers. Seasonal memberships, as well as daily admission passes, are available.
Board
The Cardington-Lincoln Joint Recreation District Board consists of five persons, two of whom are residents of the Cardington-Lincoln School District, and whom are members of the Board of Education or appointed by the Board of Education. The other members of the Recreation Board are appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the Village Council and shall be residents of the municipal corporation.
All members of the board shall serve for terms of five years. Members of the Board shall serve without pay. Vacancies in the board, occurring otherwise than by expiration of term, shall be for the unexpired term and shall be filled in the same manner as original appointments. The pool plans to open June 6th 2011 and its last day will be August 13th 2011. The pool hours run from 12:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. everyday of the week.
Pool Passes
 Pool passes will be on sale at the Village Offices starting in May. The cost for pool passes are as follows: 1 person $65, 2 people $85, 3 people $105, 4 people $125, 5 people $135, 6 people $145, 7 people $155, 8 people $165, for each additional person it is another $10 per person.

Funding

In addition to user fees, the Joint Recreation Board is funded by property taxes. In 2005 the Board earned $31,609 from a permanent .3 mill property tax levy. In addition, $79,024 was collected from a .75 mill levy passed in 2001 to pay for improvements at the pool.
