Abatements and Tools

• The Village is Cardington is willing to discuss income and property tax abatements. The type and size of the abatement will depend on the specific project.
• The Cardington Improvement Corporation (CIC) does award low-interest loans to local businesses.
• Kathryn Goon is the local business advisor and she a great free resource for business advising. Her number is 419-755-9011 and email is kgoon@braintreepartners.org. Ms. Goon works closely with the Braintree Business Development Center out of Mansfield. Braintree is a non-profit that helps businesses start, grow, and succeed.
• The Village of Cardington has used enterprise agreements and tax increment financing (TIF) in the past to fund economic development projects. The Village would be open to discussing these options for future development projects.
